TSMC and Apple cooperate to develop a Micro OLED screen for Apple Glass

The Nikkei report quoted people familiar with the matter that Apple has cooperated with TSMC to develop advanced Micro OLED screen technology for AR devices (such as Apple Glass ) in Taiwan . According to sources, TSMC’s Micro OLED screen technology is currently in the trial production stage, and it may still be several years before mass production is possible.

The biggest difference between Micro OLED and traditional LED and OLED is that it can provide higher resolution and lower power consumption. As for Apple's choice to cooperate with TSMC instead of traditional screen manufacturers, the main reason is that Micro OLED is small in size and will be directly built on the wafer for production.
