The first-generation Magic Keyboard is compatible with the M1 iPad Pro but cannot be closed accurately

The new 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro equipped with M1 processor have been pre-sold. This time, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro is slightly thicker than the previous generation. Although Apple has also launched the second-generation Magic Keyboard to work with the new iPad Pro, Youguo fans still want to know whether the first-generation Magic Keyboard is compatible. For this reason, Apple has given the answer.

Apple has updated the support documentation for the iPad keyboard . Apple does say that after connecting the new iPad Pro to the first-generation Magic Keyboard, it is still compatible, but it may not be closed.

The first-generation Smart Keyboard (A1998) is compatible with the new iPad Pro 12.9-inch (5th generation) equipped with Liquid Retina XDR display. Due to the slightly thicker size of the new iPad Pro, the Delicate Keyboard may not fit perfectly when closed (especially when a screen protector is added).
