More than 40,000 games were removed from the App Store in China

Because of China's game policy, it is necessary to apply to the State Administration of Press and Publication of China, and then be issued a version number before it can be released. In the past, games on the App Store did not have too many regional restrictions, but after December 31, 2020, all games that cannot be submitted for a "version number" will also be directly removed from the shelves and cannot be listed on the Chinese App Store.

According to data, Apple has removed 47,692 apps from the shelves today, most of which are paid games without a version number, including NBA 2K20, Assassin’s Creed, etc.
