Since iPhone X switched to Face ID as the only authentication method, it has been frequently reported that Apple will add under-screen fingerprint recognition technology to the iPhone over the years. But even if Apple has a lot of related patents exposed, we haven't been able to see Apple's implementation of this technology until the iPhone 12. However, well-known whistleblower Jon Prosser hinted that on the next-generation iPhone, there may be an off-screen Touch ID that can be used.
According to the news, the current prototype of the iPhone 13 is equipped with the Touch ID function under the display panel, and not only one model, but a total of two prototypes have such a function.
But this does not mean that Apple will launch an iPhone 13 equipped with Touch ID next year, but it means that Apple does intend to try Touch ID off the screen.
