Recently, in macOS Catalina 10.15.3 Beta, a character called Pro Mode was found in the Reference file. It also pointed out that Apps would run faster, but the battery would consume faster, and the fan noise would increase. When Pro Mode is enabled, the fan speed limit will also be suspended.
These data show that MacBook is likely to join Pro Mode in the future. However, because older MacBooks may not have sufficient heat dissipation capabilities, Pro Mode may be limited to MacBook Pro 16-inch or later MacBooks.
Earlier news said that Apple intends to launch a gaming Mac, and maybe this Pro Mode can be used in games. In fact, for the average heat dissipation, noise, and battery power of the MacBook, there is not necessarily too much opportunity to really turn on the CPU performance. The emergence of Pro Mode allows users to decide for themselves when to turn on full speed.
